Day 4 Costa Maya, Mexico

Day four found us in the port of Costa Maya, Mexico. Both my mother and I have been to Mexico and have visited the Tulum ruins before. The shopping at port is very minimal so we decide to stay on board the ship and relax today. This vacation was as much about chilling as it was about exploring. The kids once again spent the day at the pool hanging and chilling. Both the Norwegian Jade and the Royal Adventure of the Seas were in port at the same time we were. Here are a few pictures of the two ships.

The Norwegian Jade is a much smaller ship then the Getaway. We could look down on it from the top. There pool was smaller and no slide like we have. The bottom picture you an just see the hot tub.

Royal's Adventure of the Sea was the closest to the port. They are similar in size to NCL Getaway.
The top five shore excursions were the following: Kohunlich Mayan ruins, Mayan reality tour, Chacchoben Mayan Ruins, Mayan Kingdom Waterpark and Mayan Wellness Retreat. There were a couple of others mentioned on the port shopping borchure a catamaran cruise & snorkel and Salsa cooking & Dancing with beach break. The shops in Costa Maya were limited and would not really appealed to the kids and Pandora is the only jewelry that  do. They had Diamonds International, Tanzanite International, Cariloha and Del Sol.

Before supper we decided to do sail away on the deck. We did super in The Tropicana room because the burn the floor dancers were dancing during dinner and it was an opportunity to see them again.  While supper looked good it was cold and the entrees were not edible because of it. We made the decision to leave as the service was subpar compared to the first night we at there. We did let a manager know that really it was the service and we just wanted her to know so it could be corrected in the future not that we were looking for anything as it was the free dinning room. We ended up finishing our meal at the buffet. It was American themed night, Daniel had a hard time with this thinking there should be a Canadian night for odd as well. LOL who knows maybe one day in the future there will be one for him with poutine and maple products or beaver tails.

My french onion soup from the Tropicana room

 Elizabeth's cold seafood pasta

 my cold chicken cordon blue

The food did look so much on point it was a shame that the temperature just was not there. The show was great as well and maybe that is what caused the server issues I just do not know as it was the first time I have really been disappointed in anything on I have had on a Norwegian ship. Every now and then someone can have a bad day.
Katherine was the only one to catch a picture of the dancers. I think I just did video. Picture is a bit blurred.

American Nights decor was very simple

After dinner we went back to our rooms. Watched outside our balcony's for a bit and then the kids and I watched a movie. The movies offered in the rooms were not too bad.

Stay tuned for tomorrow where we will once again head into a port and do an excursion!!
